Responsible for recruiting engineers, laboratory technicians and labourers
for Saudi Paper Manufacturing Co.

• Sheer numbers of applicants to be interviewed
• Language/dialects/diction
• Matching education and experience equivalency
• Communicating the challenges of the country and culture to the applicants
• Availability of references
• Operating with a respected and reputable recruiter who didn’t charge the applicant
• To not succumb to their individual desperate need for work

Resolution:

• All hires had to be able to communicate in English
• Interviewed using applicable questions for sounding out how the applicants' experience or education was relevant for the various positions
• Contacted references if available
• Local recruiters were well referenced and sourced before contracting initial recruiting to them
• Justified each selected applicant for the position(s)
